How much does a website cost in Uganda in 2026?

· Cranix Team

It’s the first question almost every business asks us, and the honest answer is: it depends on what you need it to do. But “it depends” isn’t very helpful, so here are realistic ranges for Uganda in 2026.

Simple business website — from UGX 1.5M ($400)

A few well-designed pages: home, about, services, contact. Mobile-friendly, fast, with WhatsApp and a contact form. This is the right starting point for most SMEs that just need to look credible and be found on Google.

Website with extras — UGX 3M–6M ($800–$1,600)

Add things like a blog, online bookings, a small online shop, or several languages, and the price rises with the work involved.

Custom web app — UGX 6M+ ($1,600+)

Logins, dashboards, payments, customer portals — software, not just pages. Priced by the features you need.

What actually drives the price

  • Number of pages and features — more functionality, more work.
  • Custom design vs template — a unique brand look costs more than a theme.
  • Integrations — payments, Mobile Money, bookings, other systems.
  • Content — do you have text and photos ready, or do we create them?

Beware of “too cheap”

A UGX 200,000 website is usually a recycled template you don’t own, with no support when it breaks. A good website is an investment that brings in customers for years — and you should own every bit of it.
